Hanging Silk Lanterns are handmade in the town of Hoi An, Vietnam. Also called “Hoi An Lanterns,” the organic shapes of these lanterns come from the fish traps upon which they are based. Traditionally hung on the full moon, these hanging lamps are meant to bring good luck to the house they inhabit!
Old bamboo is soaked ten-day in salt water against wormhole and moth, then dried and sharped as the size of lantern. Cloth must be silken or nylon and must be tough enough for stretching. It sounds simple but The lantern making process requires the good skills and a lot of patience.
